Visiting Michigan: Bronner's Christmas Wonderland ▲
Friday, August 9
Did you guys know Christmas is my favorite holiday? When I found out about Bronner's I knew I couldn't leave Michigan without visiting. I didn't think it was going to be possible because initially I thought it was just too far from where we were staying. But after some sleuthing on MapQuest I realized it was in fact only about a 30 minute drive. Mike had a break in his Best Manly duties so we took a quick side-trip to Frankenmuth, home of Bronner's.
You guys. This place is heavenly. Seriously. And it's HUGE. They have 4 or 5 entrances and a parking lot to rival that of Six Flags or Disney World. I didn't take any pictures of the outside, but the streets are lined with Rudolphs, Santas, and Wisemen and paved with candy canes and gum drops! That second part is an exaggeration...they're paved with asphalt, but still!
If you are ever in Michigan, you must visit Bronner's! Unless Christmas isn't your thing, then maybe you should skip it. Also, if you're a straight man, don't go because you will want to kill yourself. Even I was a little disoriented after 20 straight minutes of Christmas songs.
But if you're looking for a special type of ornament, they have it. And most of the store is organized into categories, so you don't have to search hour upon hour for that rare cow ornament your mom wants. Just go right to the "farm" section. Not even kidding.
Amazingly Mike and I managed to escape after only purchasing two small Cat ornaments for a grand total of about $10. Given the proper amount of time I easily could have generated an embarrassingly large bill.
